Kingdom Protista
- Protists are a large and diverse group of eukaryotic microorganisms. Most are multi-cellular. Some green algae is unicellular.
- They do not get energy by eating food, they gain energy by the sun which is Photosynthesis.
- Protists are the most diverse of all eukaryotes because they cover all bases of life forms such as unicellular, multicellular, autotroph, and heterotrophic.
- To be involved in the gneiss of eukaryotes from prokaryotes, prokaryotic cell mutations parted new cells; aerobic and photosynthetic. A prokaryotic cell first engulfed an aerobic prokaryotic cel then engulfed into a photo cell.
- Endosymbiosis is a type if symbiosis where one organism lives inside the other, and the two behave as one single organism. This relates to protists because the main cell engulfs the other cell and they act as one.
- Most biologist currently working on eukaryotic relationships consider Kingdom Protista obsolete because this kingdom is made up of organisms that do not share the same ancestors.
